Craig,
Wonderful shot! The composition, color, clarity, and message are all great. Truly a WINNER. Good luck.

Hey, Ron! Thanks for the kind words...I am still trying to cool down after that photo shoot!

Awsome, Craig!! Well done, the flames are so captivating!

Was this the fire up near the hills of Laverne area? I live in CA and thought about going up to that fire, but was waaayy to chicken to do it! Great job again and good luck! #16425

Stephanie...

This shot was taken at the Croy Fire located in the Santa Cruz Mountains just to the west of Morgan Hill. Believe it or not they are talking full control of this beast on October 18, 2002! It has been a really tough battle.

Thanks so much for your encouraging words! It makes the wearing of a really goofy and ill-fitting helmet at this fire worth it.

Cheers! #16428

Well done Craig! It's amazing to see even the smallest limbs of that first tree bursting into flames yet not fully consumed. Remarkable how you've captured the intensity and heat of the situation! #16452

Larall...

I must admit that I had no idea what these photos would look like when they cam back from the lab. This was very much a "shoot and run" kind of gig. Thanks-a-million for your kind words! #16488

Loralee! I know I can spell...thanks, again for your kind words! #16493

Quite alright Craig, it is often spelled mistakenly due to it's uncommoness.

Wonderful job on your next entry as well; 'Heated Conversation'! Beautiful display of light and strength...of both flames and brave firemen (especially for a shoot and run shot!). #16503
