To lighten up the dark areas you should use a image editing program like PaintShopPro, or PhotoShop, they both have tools wich you can use to lighten up your image. To blow this up to 16x20 you must have a much higher resolution copy than what you got here. #9890

Highlight the end of the building with magic wand and masking tool, and then adjust the levels, brightness/contrast and color if needed. You might also work with the smudge tool, patch tool, clone stamp tool to eliminate the electrical wire in the upper right hand of the photo, and use the burn tool to darken the leaves in the same corner. #15957

I have an SLR camera. (Saving for a digital) I guess I didn't express that. Sorry, I don't have the capabilities of changing this photo on the computer. #15960

P Smith, sorry, didn't realize you didn't have editing software... I recommend taking your photo to a good photo developing lab who also has digital capabilities, have them scan the photo and work on correcting the photo to your specifications. You will pay for that service, but it shouldn't be much. Or you might find a friend who has computer and editing capabilities to assist you. #15961

Thompkinsville, KY (What can I do to lighten the darkness from the front of the schoolhouse?) What would it look like if I blew it up 16x20 as a gift?)
