This is a great picture. People never hear about what Indianapolis has to offer. It's the best city in the world and taking the monument and making a c-mas tree is an awesome site. This is a cool pic and John did great capturing the beauty of it. P.S. My hometown is Indianapolis and haven't been there for 2 years due to military. Going home in 2 days!! #261368

I agree that Indy is a great town. I enjoyed my visit there. Got lost everytime I turned around though ;)
I don't think this is an a very long exposure John, but I suspect it felt that way in the cold :)
Nice shot, love the color that the lights cast on the monument. #1457486

Justin,
Welcome home. Thank you for your service to the nation. I know all too well the daily sacrifices made . . . lots of little things as well as the big ones . . . no matter where one is stationed or what the duty assignment is.

I know Susan has already seen these, but if you haven't, they're are also of downtown Indianapolis . . .

And . . . if you know where the Eiteljorg Museum is in White River State Park . . . near the baseball stadium, zoo, etc., take an afternoon and see the Edward Weston exhibit that will be there through some time in October. They're original 8x10 prints . . . I'd estimate several hundred . . . which would be about half of the work from his "retrospective" that was done shortly before he died in the late 1950's. His son Cole helped select the plates and negatives, and his other son Brett printed them for him under his supervision. He was too far gone with Parkinson's Disease to do it himself. Edward Weston and Ansel Adams were close friends, often worked together and were two of the founders of Group F/64.

Susan,
Shutter speed is likely in the vicinity of 1/2 second judging from the blur of the woman in the foreground.

Thanks!
