It's really easy to produce this effect using Photoshop and the kaleidoscope
filter from Filter Factory. There's two sliders in the filter that you move
a little at a time until you get an interesting pattern. If you don't like
it after you apply it, you can undo it and try again. If you don't have the
filters, here is a link to a site where you can download 20+ galleries of
filters from Filter Factory and they are all free. The kaliedoscope filter is in gallery A.
