Cycle Of Life
Uploaded: July 27, 2007
The Lotus -from seed to flower to a dried pod with seeds that drop out and begin the cycle again.
F5, 1/320, ISO 100, 150mm. Flood added, and I used Xero SuperSmooth to smooth the background just a little. I almost entered this in flowers, but it doesn't look much like a flower now so I entered it in Catch-all.

The first one lost sharpness so I resharpened slightly and resubmitted.Looks like it should belong to an alien category Carol, great shot (a)

Such an interesting pod--love the clarity that allows me to appreciate how the seeds seem to just sit in their own little cell, just waiting to drop out. #4568425Carol Teal July 27, 2007

Thank you so much, Peaches, for your kind comment! And Frank, I appreciate your encouragement and humor! Which reminds me of a hilarious story about my middle brother. After watching an alien movie as a young child, he wanted to sleep with mom and dad. They said no, so Tim yelled out "Well, if you wake up in the morning and find a bag of bones in my bed, you'll be sorry!" :D #4571677
