Nikon D100, 80-400 at 80mm, ISO 200, 1/30, f8. Sunrise at Garden of the Gods in Colorado. Pikes Peak is in the background and in the foreground is Kissing Camels Rock. Can you see the camels?

Beautiful shot, K!!! #562012Wally Orlowsky May 27, 2004
Beautiful shot with great colors, K. I love these rock formations with animal or human forms, I see the camels, and a lizard, and an alligator, and two women playing badminton, and all of the members of the Rolling Stones (had to include at least one "rock" group). Guess I've taken too many Rorschach tests ;) #562023Gianna Stadelmyer May 27, 2004
I think I can see one camel's head and another camel's hump, but I don't see two whole ones kissing....I DO see a beautiful shot though! #562027Paul Michko May 27, 2004
It took me a moment, but yes I can. Great shot, K the colors are spectacular. #562028Carolyn M. Fletcher May 27, 2004
Gorgeous shot, but I, having never taken a Rorschach test, can't see camels or Rolling Stones either. LOL #562069Michael Wehrman May 27, 2004

Wonderful shot, I like the layers of color that make up the mountains and sky! #562150Allan L. Whitehead May 27, 2004
Wonderful photograph and presentation, Kelly, I do love all of this, though. I don't see any camels, but then, with these eyes of mine I'm lucky to see the distant mountains. Oh, wait a minute, I think I see 'Rivendale' on the far horizon though, eh…(he, he, he…)Joy Brown May 27, 2004

Very beautiful image in a very beautiful geological area..did you get a chance to visit the Royal Gorge when you were there?...Gary O #562596Kelly Abernathy May 27, 2004
Thanks Shirley, Casey, Donna, Claudia, Lori and GaryO. And GaryO - We've been to the Royal Gorge before (and before I had the camera), but ran out of time to go there this time. Just gives us an excuse to go back, right? Thanks again -K #562704Barbara Bergeron May 27, 2004
I love that red in the rust color in the front. So vibrant. Never be there before so thanks for sharing. I am missing the camels but would never miss this image. Absolutely beautiful! #562726Kelly Abernathy May 27, 2004
Thanks Barbara - the sunrises and sunsets on these rocks really make them so beautiful. Okay, here's where the camels are - if you follow the rock up from the left, in the second rounded area you'll see a hole in the rock - that hole is right under the liplock, under both camels chins. It's probably hard to see it in this shot - I think I have a close up shot I took. As I work through the shots, if I find one I'll post it. Thanks again -KTerry R. Hatfield May 27, 2004
