Wood Duck Female

Uploaded: May 13, 2007

Description

A pair of Wood Ducks appeared at the lake at Sweetwater and stayed only a short time, providing an opportunity to photograph highly distinctive ducks. They are small, their legs only about an inch long and so slight that on the still water it seemed they were resting on a mirror.

Susan, this is a great shot. We had a male Wood Duck to fly into our local park last year. I had the opportunity to get several photographs of him. Then one day he was gone. Thanks so much for commenting on my 'Free Bird' shot. Have a great weekend. Bill
