What an adorable little boy! This is a very cute photo with the bubble! #676612

Thank you, Jillian! The bubbles are my "secret weapon!" I save them until the end of the shoot when the kids need extra fun for me to be able to squeeze out a few more shots before they get sick of me! ;-( Everybody loves bubbles -even adults! So it's almost a slam dunk! #4420141

Wow, I worked for Picture People for awhile and bubbles are so hard to photograph! A lot of the time they look like big water marks on the picture, that is an excellent shot!!! Wow! #4427728

actually, we give the bubbles a little help --we make an underneath layer and either increase contrast or a pply overlay or softlight blending mode, and then erase down to the bubble only from the top "normal" contrast layer. then of course, when we hand paint the portrait, we do a little brighter than normal application of rainbow color to the bubble. #4431152

Vik, this is such a beautiful portrait! Would you mind sharing what background you used and where we could purchase same? #4472126

i actually had this drop painted by a local artist years ago, and since then every time I need a new one I send a photo of the current one to knowledge backgrounds and they custom paint a new one for me according to the photo. it's changed a little over the years. this is painted in ps --the actual drop is various tones of warm grey with a few very small touches of bull's blood red. thank you for your kind words! #4475611

Hi, just wanted to say that I absolutely love this photo. I've been trying to get bubble shots with my son for a long time. This is great inspiration to keep trying. #6995653

thank you so much for your kind words, jenni! I didn't realize bubbles were tough to capture --i imagine that keeping them far away from the camera will help minimize the blobby, too big and out of focus affect. also, slightly directional light is probably best to create highlights (much like the catch lights in the subject's eyes.) good luck with the bubble shots of your son! ;-) #6995873

Vik,
Thanks for the tips. I'll try it again :-) #6996597
