That's some sunset Kerry! Wow is the only word that describes it :)
We've been having some very vibrant sunsets on the east coast this summer due to sand in the upper atmosphere that has traveled here from dust storms in the Sahara Desert! #1721373

Hi Jeff,
Thanks so much for your nice comments ... I appreciate it! Wow, sand from the Sahara ... amazing ... that would certainly cause some very vibrant sunsets!
Thanks again,
Kerry

For anyone interested, here's the "story" behind the making of this "Sunset Reflection":
This is the last - and best! - of a series of images of this fabulous sunset ... and I was the only one to catch it! From early evening on, several photographers - including myself - shot this lake-reflection scene. Earlier, the colors were much less intense than what you see here, but still verrrrry splendid. As always when I have a great subject, I vary my compositions - shooting verticals and horizontals, zooming in and zooming out, etc. I was having a fine time!

Just when things started to get really spectacular, a cloud moved into the wrong place - and, poof, there went the light. We all groaned, and the other photographers took off. Although I also thought that the sunset show was gone for good, I followed my "rule" in these sorts of situations: I hung around, just in case. My reward for sticking to it? This photo! #1721550

Hi Kerry!!

This is a GREAT image and I'm really glad you stayed around to capture it. I guess this is why photographers need to have a lot of patience!!

Hi Pat,
How nice to hear from you!! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts ... I'm glad you like the photo. Say, Pat, when you get the chance, let me know what you've been up to ... for me, it was the pre-Summit Photo Tour of Seattle, then the Summit itself ... all verrrry exhilerating. Thanks again, Pat!

Fantastic photo, Kerry - I love the sweeping feeling of the clouds in the sky. Your moral of the story is great too, it's ALWAYS worth sticking around just in case things get even better. Wonderful colors and great composition with the horizon low in the frame, really accentuates the clouds. Kudos, friend! #1845290
