Description

This amazing woman now cares for her 5 grandchildren by herself in Arad, Romania after her daughter died and son-in-law left town. She sweeps streets in order to provide for her family. Somehow they all live in a one room house that can only fit 2 single beds perpendicular to each other.

Of all the photos on the page, this one struck me: I was certain she was Romanian, she does look indisputably so. She has that expression of mixed grief and kindness that many Romanians have. You captured it perfectly.
Very good portrait, Mike!

WOW..this is a wonderful portrait of a woman of character...beautiful with her half smile and wrinkled with her years of living. Terrific job with this, Mike!!! #3893158
