Margaret, what a gift you have for capturing children and putting them in such creative and photogenically original situations! This is marvelous! #438827Peggy Wolff March 21, 2004
Thank you all for taking the time to comment. :o) Kat, I have the directions saved since I have been asked so many times. Here you go. To bring back all of the color.1. Open an RGB image.
2. Drag the background image to the new layer icon at the bottom of the layers palette.
3. Working on your background copy, go to Images > Adjustments > Desaturate.
4. At this point, go to background copy and adjust levels for more contrast.
5. With your zoom tool, enlarge your image to between 100-200% to see detail.
6. Click on Eraser tool in the tool bar. Select a small to med. size soft brush and set it at 100% opacity.
7. Erase any black and white area of the image you want the color to be restored. You can also change the opacity level to give a more hand-painted look. #438875

Love this shot, I am a clown and would like to do something like this for my clown busness cards.Peggy Wolff May 23, 2004
Thanks William. Ya know what would be cute...You could be all dressed up and holding a big bunch of and pose like you are flying up. Look a little down and nervous like you did not mean to do that. Then take a photo of your outside background and then another one of just you. You could then add the photo later well above the ground.Peggy Wolff May 23, 2004
OK, I was interupted WAY to many times during that short note. You could have a big bunch of BALLOONS. LOL You would then add the photo of just you to the background photo. You could make the background B&W and just you and the balloons in color if you wanted to do selective coloring. So you really popped off the page. #556210Susana Ms Heide August 05, 2004
