Cool shot, Gordon! Nice work! #428295Gordon J. Evans March 17, 2004
Thanks Robin and Janet!! My kids and I froze this rose in a cardboard milk container, then tore off the cardboard about 3 weeks ago and took photos. This weekend when we pulled it out of the freezer, just the usual opening and closing of the freezer door over time caused some of the ice to melt, and a few leaves and petals are starting to show through. It's become more of a "science project" for the kids now to see what happens next ... LOL #428345Lori Ditlefsen March 17, 2004

great idea...nice work #428412Gordon J. Evans March 17, 2004
Thanks Cathy, and I wish I could credit for the idea, a friend on mine froze a bottle of vodka in ice with roses for a party years back, so that's where the idea came from (just takes me a while to do things, LOL). #428421Colleen Braun March 17, 2004
kool image and a great idea for kids, thanks for sharing... #428627Gordon J. Evans March 18, 2004
Thanks Colleen!! I'm surprised my kids haven't come up with the idea of just popping it up on a deck rail some sunny day to shoot the melting process, LOL... #429991Charles Dias April 01, 2004
I myself am doing some experiments shoting flowers and fruits inside iceblocks with a various kinds of directional lighting and it´s always very intersting and cool.Gordon J. Evans April 01, 2004
I wish I cold take credit for the set up, but the rose was just sitting on a deck railing outside, natural light and effects, with an evergreen tree serving as a backdrop... #457724Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
