Don't mess with my bird

Uploaded: January 04, 2007

Description

I caught this facial expression on this Artic fox in the willows who was protecting his lunch and it appeared he was conveying the message "Don't mess with my bird". Captured with 20D at ISO200, 1/320 sec, F/6.3 at 300 mm, slight crop

Hi Mary, these artic foxes are small about size of a 15 pound cat and are very fast and hard to capture. Got real lucky to run across this little fella. #3808192

We were lucky to spot him. They are about the size of a cat and hard to see in the snow and ice. #6291680

Emile, you got some great shots of arctic fox and snowshoe hare's! We were in Churchill in Nov of 2006.
This year in Alaska we only had a couple of young fox kits 1/2 in winter/summer coat. We did have a snowy owl we got some shots of but he was still a little far away. #9003328

Hi Phyllis, I am enjoying you Alaska photos. I never did get a snowy owl shot. I posted today another polar bear capture of two playing in a blizzard #9003802
