The Pole Dancer

Uploaded: December 26, 2006

Description

This sequence of images was taken with Canon 5D at ISO 200, F/5, 1/160 sec with 1+ exposure and warming filter added. This pole was left after we dismantled our first camp at Gordon Point and this young sub-adult was very curious. He appeared to be dancing with the pole so I called this sequence "The Pole Dancer"
and it is presented to get us ready for the festive New Years Eve.

Great sequence of shots, Emile. I watched an interesting segment on TV the other night about the Polar Bears. Seeing them through your documentation makes the story that more apparent. Nice work.

Emile,
Sorry, but I can bearly take this!(hey I said sorry!..:) )
Great sequence. I have seen many shows on these guys but I am sure it is nothing to seeing them close and in the wild. Their paws are enormous! They are so interesting and so are your shots. Great captures Emile! Thanks!

Glad you have enjoyed the captures, James. They are such awesome creatures and to bad they will not be around much longer due to Global Warming. Best estimates are 40 to 50 years at the longest for this Ice mammal. #3811433

This series is as cute as a month-old baby's smile, Emile! Love the title, too. Polar bears look almost as sweet as mantees, but the bears have teeth and claws... #10471616
