Designs in the snow

Uploaded: December 12, 2006

Description

Two different designs in the snow. Probably a wheel track curving along the top of the frame and bear tracks that begin at the lower right and wander and intersect the other design in the snow at the top left. There are two lone willow sprigs in the center for contrast. The texture of the snow is very fine as it snowed about 4 inches last night. Captured with EOS 5D at 50mm, ISO200 at 1/100 sec and f/5.6 at Gordon point Hudson Bay, Canada.

A delightful snow study, Emile. Are they the same willows that grow along side our streams in the south? #571806

Thanks John. I would guess so but do not know. The compound found in aspirin comes from willow bark. Native American Indian used to chew the bark as a analgesic. These willows are very small and essentially only vegetation on the tundra other than kelp/seaweed. #3699349
