Description

The view between 6th Street Bridge & 7th Street Bridge (Roberto Clemente Bridge) across the Allegheny River to downtown Pittsburgh, PA. These three bridges are supposedly the only nearly identical cable stay spans in the world in such close proximity. On this icy cold Thanksgiving morning, I caught more of the lights and beautiful skyline. Not a soul in sight; just the gentle hush of the river rolling by and the quiet hum of a city sleeping. 7:20AM November 23, 200

How do you get such great exposure on your shots? You have absolutely magnificent shots. Do you work much with Photoshop for these images? #572950

Zachary -

I do use photoshop in these composites. I am a graphic designer first. Most of the post-production work in these panoramic composites is in stitching the images together seamlessly and matching color/tone/saturation across multiple images.

As for the exposures, I have worked hard to find what works best for me and I am sure I do it the hard way. I have just found that by setting my camera in "bulb" mode and taking several bracketed exposures of each frame, I get the proper dynamic range across the image, which I can then use to composite into one final image. It's akin to shooting HDR imagery, I suppose. For each of the panoramas that you see, I shot between 40-60 frames before compositing.

I hope this helps! - jason #3707349

I am really impressed, Jason. Great subject, well conceived and achieved. Congratulations... #3713323
