Gasp!

Description

From our Beijing hotel room, I better understood why my sinuses were clogged, my eyes and throat burned, my fingers hurt and I felt ill. Across China, every household burns coal to heat their homes and cook their food. Add to this, industries use coal for fuel. “The World Bank has just released a survey of the world's most polluted cities, and 16 of the 20 most polluted are in China.” [Epoch Times, International, 6/10/06] “Beijing, which has seen improved air quality, was still listed at number 28 out of 113 cities included on the list." [China Daily]

Since October 30, 2006, without any word to the public, the U.S. EPA closed its specialized library for research on the effects and properties of chemicals. Peer-reviewed scientific studies have been replaced by industry funded studies for new, weakened regulations, despite new studies identifying a high incidence of peripheral vascular disease in people consuming arsenic in food/water/air from coal.
