Cabin In The Woods

Description

This was taken at White Pines State park in Illinois. I had won grand prize for a magazine photo contest. One of the prizes was a two night stay in the park. I took this just after it got dark and used a tripod, 2 seconds, F4 and ISO 200. I added the water with the flood filter and used various drop shadows on the trees and branches to give a 3-D effect.

Murry, Donna, Paula & Lorraine,
Thank you all so very much for your wonderful comments and congrats. I really appreciate it. This stay was for a contest that I had won in 2003. I just found out that I won the same contest for 2004 and got grand prize plus four other places. I will be posting the info on my web site soon. This year I will get a stay at another park where all the eagles will be at in Jan. I have to say that it was a nice little bit of good news considering how bad it has been lately. We have had two very tragic deaths in the family and it has been really rough. But onto happy things.
I have to tell you, it was a wonderful stay. There were deer & other wildlife all over the place and there were only two other couples staying while we were there and for the most part had the park to ourselves. The seven hiking trails were fantastic, the cabin was so cozy and the food was great. It was very cold and the fireplace was very welcome after hiking. I think I was more relaxed there than I have ever been. Then we had to leave there and go to Springfield for a show that I had to do and all the stress came back from being in the city:-(
Ok, now I know that I have made a new rambling record. I am sorry for that. It was just fun remembering being there.
I wish you all the very best for 2004. Lorraine, drop me a line, we will have to catch up.
Thanks again everyone.
