If the Levee Breaks . . .
Uploaded: December 29, 2003 17:02:27
Canon 20mm lens, ISO 400, f8@1/60, no filters. Desaturated and toned lightly in PS. I was out shooting and drove over a bridge to one of my favorite place to photograph, Svenson Island, and it was completely flooded. The levee had broken and the road to it was washing away. The field here is about 10 feet deep in water. The four houses on the island are all badly flooded.

Erland, Ellen, Kasia, Murry, Sharon and Ann--thanks for all of your nice comments. I'm going to be posting more from the flood. Some people who live across from the island said a "flood" of small animals (mice, rabbits, rats, musk rats, nutria, etc) swarmed across the island's pastures toward the levee wall and over the bridge. Many didn't make it. #311096Jill Battaglia January 15, 2004 0
