Thank you all for your nice comments. It's funny but I wouldn't have thought this shot would have been a second place winner. I took the picture on the bank of the Mara river in Kenya ( Where I was for 2 weeks in 2005, Peter) It is the start of the great migration. There were several hungry crocs on the banks and the Zebras decided to turn back mid river. I like it because it is how the crocs would see them in monochrome. The pattern is very hard to concentrate on and difficult to pick out one to attack. Wild zebras are almost hypnotic, they have a magnificent sound when neighing and an extremely peaceful sound when walking. They are as stunning as any animal in the bush. #3106881

That's exactly what I liked about the shot, the fact that this is how the preditor would see the prey. Chaos yet plenty of dinner if you get it right. I lived in Tanzania and am always drawn to wildlife shots... hope to see more from you. Cheers, Peter #3122168
