Incredible, as are all the shots in your gallery. May I ask how you had your light set up in this shot, the clarity and lighting are perfect. #2894706Susana Ms Heide June 14, 2006
Thank you Michelle for the generous compliments!! I am a fan of your work so this comment means a lot!! I used a 3 light set-up for this session. I had the main light at a 45 degree angle from the girls. I pointed it into the corner of my studio (white walls) which acts as a giant diffuser. The fill light with umbrella was on the opposite side right beside the camera. The third strobe (with softbox) was pointed to light up the background for the high key effect. Hope this helps! Once again, thanks for the thumbs up! Have a great day! #2894779Michelle B. Prince June 14, 2006
Cool, I never lit the background with a soft box but will try it today. How low were your main and fill? When I shoot on the floor I usually have my soft box sitting down on the floor with a very low stand but can't ever figure out how low the fill umbrella should be. #2894803Michelle B. Forgot to add that I love people who share info like you. Everything I have learned about photography has been from this site or a book. #2894809Susana Ms Heide June 14, 2006
If I remember correctly then I had the fill at about 4 or 5 feet high and pointed slightly down at the subjects. The main light was at 6 feet but having it pointed at the white wall spreads the light over a large area. #2894818Susana Ms Heide June 14, 2006
Didn't get that second message before hitting reply :o) Thanks! I feel the same way. Many photogs here at BP have shared so much valuable info with me, especially when I first started out. I think this is what BP is all about! #2894824Sharon Day June 19, 2006
