This is really a lovely image, Teresa! Love the color and the softness! #63187Teresa Wilkinson October 01, 2003
Thank you Evy, I love flowers of all kinds, (I love to paint also.), but I feel that I really connect with roses. I even named my youngest daughter, RoseAnna. Maybe it's not technical or even logical, but it's out there, and people feel it and respond to it just the same. tswilki #217566Ronald Balthazor October 01, 2003

What a stunning photo to start the contest with! The color and lighting are outstanding. I also love the composition. Your love of roses is evident in this one! #217720Judith G. Secco October 01, 2003
I agree with Patricia. This is outstanding. So delicate and incredibly beautiful!Teresa Wilkinson October 08, 2003
Hi everybody, I was reviewing my contest entries and I just wanted to take a moment and respond to Stephen Z' comment. When I first found out that a "Photographer" was what I wanted to be when I grew up, (It was 4 yrs ago, and I'm 43 now.), a girlfriend of mine looked at a photo of a rose that I was especially proud of. Her observation was; "Yes, that's good. But there must be a million "good" pictures of roses out there!" It really hit home, I realized she was right. Thank goodness I did't listen to her and stop right then and there. Thank you Stephen, Jim, and all the other photographers of such high caliber, to give beginners like me a chance. You made me feel so wonderful! I felt inspired and I knew I was doing a good job, you were getting the message with my photo that I intended and felt myself. To everyone! Don't give up your dreams! Anyone can be a good photographer and develop and eye... you just have to shoot a thousand rolls of film :-) Seriously though, you can take all the seminars, and read all the photo books in the world, but the only way to improve, develop an eye, and your own style is to shoot, shoot, and shoot! #227665Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
