What a great shot! I just couldn't take the camera underwater...I can see it's safe to use the housing but it makes me nervous. LOL. #2562052Michele Jarvis March 22, 2006
Thanks Tamera. I was very nervous also the first few times I took my camera underwater. The key is to make sure the channels where the O-rings sit are spotlessly clean. The O-rings are clean and crack free and you apply the smallest amount of silicon gel (this is where alot of people make a mistake- they add to much). I then surround my camera with dessicant packets and close the housing. Then I submerge it in a large container of filtered water at home. My thinking is - if it is going to get wet - filtered water is better than salt water. After every use, I clean the O-rings and channels and store the O-ring in a ziplock bag out of the channels so it is not under constant compression. O-rings under constant compression have a shorter life span. #2562382Janine Russell March 24, 2006
