Beautiful and very emotional!! Is that your wedding picture? #403181

Thank you, Sylvia. The groom is my wife's cousin. They asked me to shoot their wedding. Harder than I thought. I like this shot because I used window lighting against an old oak door in a castle. Also it was their first "on their own" moment after the ceremony. #2498172

Beautiful capture AND image, John!! :o) I can only imagine how hard it would be, to be responsible for shooting a couple's wedding photos!! ;o) I LOVE the sepia tone here - did you shoot it that way, or convert it post-camera? :o) #2499059

Thank you, Carolyn. I shot it in colour. I then desaturated in Photoshop and added + 20 red, -10 yellow in Levels in Photoshop. This gives a more chocolate hue. I saw it in a tutorial, and I think it worked here. So many of my digital b&w shots don't look as good as film. This One works, I think. Maybe I got lucky. #2499391

Nice shot John.

Do you have any suggestions and/or warnings about shooting a wedding?

I've also just been asked to shoot my niece's wedding, which will be the first for me.

I've read other places that it is tough to do, so any specific tips, gotchas and suggestions would be greatfuly appreciated! Thanks.

I doubt it was luck; rather the result of hard work! Congratulations of a great output.

Thanks very much Craig & Ray.

Ray, I found 3 things very hard. One was an unexpected event where a family member took ill and I had no plan b. 2. when it came to the church I had no control over the pace. 3. I didnt plan arranging group shots beforehand.

When previously at weddings I got some great shots I didnt realise it was because I had loads of time.

On a positive note it was a pleasure to be chosen as the one to capture their day and to be so close to them at such a happy time. #2540326

What do you mean when you say you made +20 red and -10 yellow adjustments in levels. If you are working in RGB you have Red but no yellow and if you are working in CMYK you have yellow but not red. Levels does not have a contro that is normally referred to as + or - adjustment? #2547655

Sorry Charles, I meant in Colour Balance. #2547991
