Great shot - would love to duplicate this in Grand Canyon this April on vacation. Could you please let me know some of the specifics: lens, f/stop; aperature, etc. I have a Nikon D100 so far with 28-200 3.5; 18-70 3.5; and now 50mm 1.8.
Thanks #2566719

This shot is a composite of two multiple exposure shots taken within minutes of one another. The first exposure was of the background and the second exposure was of the moon. The focal lenght for the moon was 200mm. The specific F-stop information will depend upon available light.
Most of the skill involved in taking this shot is to get the right timing. The moon rise occured just as the sun after the sunset...creating a nice warm glow on the moon and still providing enough light to get good textures in the foreground. Hope this helps. #2569138
