Gary,Beautiful! Great clairity. The first question that comes to mind is how did you get this shot, even with a 400mm lens? Nice job.

Hi Bill, my 400mm lens is more like a 640mm lens due to the size of the digital sensor being smaller than 35mm film. This was shot at a wildlife science center at a distance of about 40 feet. Thanks for the kind comments. Regards, Jake #2453303Janine Russell February 22, 2006
Gary, excellent detail, exposure, lighting and clarity. #2455634Gary Jacobson February 23, 2006

It was just one of those perfect winter days...lot's of gentle falling snow and flat lighting. It certainly helped that the wolves were very cooperative subjects and were quite comfortable with me sharing their space. Okay, the Alpha male didn't appreciate my presence, but the others didn't seem to mind. If you ever want to capture some wolf images in Minnesota, contact the wildlife science center in Forest Lake at www.wildlifesciencecenter.org, they are a non-profit and charge $75/hour to photograph the wolves. They are wild animals and not trained to pose, so you get what you get when shooting. Thanks again for your kind comments. Many Thanks,

P.S. I was surprised today because I wasn't even aware that there was a photo of the day on Better Photo. :)
