One of two bronze lions which adorn the Netherlands Carillon at Arlington Cemetery.
Their eastward gaze pulls in a marvelous view of Washington, D.C., on the horizon; the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the dome of the U.S. Capitol are tiny in the distance. PG101 Wide-Angle Theme. (Here, 17mm, then cropping off a bit of the bottom, for a broader format.)

Nice work, Chris... especially with the addition of those rosy clouds. #11622309Amanda D. Austwick July 21, 2017
I like the gaze this statue over DC against a beautiful sunrise. #11622314Mitch Spence July 21, 2017 1
There seems to be some sort of metaphor here, Chris, with this far-away view from the lion's perspective. I can't quite decide what that metaphor is, but it's got to be something about keeping our eye on it all but maintaining perspective. #11622398Chris Budny July 21, 2017 1
