Rings of a Tree

The tree was freshly cut and I loved the look of the rings. There is some formula they use to count the rings to get an estimate of its age. The darker layers are added in the colder weather, the lighter colors the warmer weather.

I love wood and its many uses Frank! I am led to believe that the wider the rings are spaced, the greater the growth of the tree that year. This is definitely a work of art by nature! #11615076Patrick Rouzes June 28, 2017

Great capture. Love the info about the rings to tell the age of the tree. So sad to see a tree cut down, that has been around for hundred of years. #11615380Ann H. Belus July 04, 2017
