Heart of the Crypt

Description

The Chapel of St. Joseph, shown here, is built as a sunken chapel, with the chapel floor about a dozen steps below the main floor on this level, making it the lowest point a visitor can reach, deep within the cathedral. All of the marvelous ironwork for this chapel is the work of Samuel Yellin.
