Christmas Glass

A mix of five blown-glass ornaments hanging from my ornament tree, backlit by a window. Each of the makers blew their glass bubble into an optic mold, which left subtle alternating bands of thicker and thinner glass on the surface of the bubble, like ridges and valleys. If the bubble is then twisted, spiral lines are produced (like the red ornament.) If left untwisted, the lines remain parallel as in the cobalt ornament. The large pale amethyst sphere was blown into a mold resulting in a fishnet surface pattern.
