After marveling over the remarkable Great Hall of the Library of Congress, the Main Reading Room certainly doesn't disappoint. I love what the building's architecture and decoration expresses visually, about the value of books (and other media) and the worth of pursuing and cherishing knowledge. Anyone aged 16 or older may obtain a free reader card to conduct research here, in this historic room. With 38 million books, 70 million manuscripts, 5 million maps -- there's plenty of research opportunities!

Wow! This is so amazing and you have photographed it so well! #11526477Chris Budny October 14, 2016
Both… It is Shirley the most beautiful building in the city. And that's hard for me to say, given my bias towards the cathedral here :-) #11526587Chris Budny October 14, 2016
Sorry about that typo… I meant to say, thank you both. And that it is surely the most beautiful… #11526588Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
