Depression on the Savannah Coast

Description

On a driving vacation to Savannah several years ago we found ourselves on Tyree Island to shoot its lighthouse. It was a gray day to say the least; I took several pictures of the shoreline and edited them as color shots. Just recently, I converted one of the image files to monochrome. In my opinion, the black and white succeeds more effectively because of the grainy exposure setting I used, for which I have no explanation.

Canon EOS 30D with 17-85 mm zoom at 22 mm.

I agree John! Great presentation, gives me the feel of the weather! :-) #1659991

Thanks, JoAnn. I just added this monochrome and the color original to a program I'll be offering to clubs in the NJFCC called "The Magic of Monochrome." When you compare the files side-by-side, the monochrome is definitely superior. #11482953

Now that sets a mood. Nicely presented. #11483456
