Description

Dragsholm Castle, Denmark
A dream came true for me last month.
I took a trip to Iceland, Denmark and Norway and came home with some fantastic images to share and enter.
But first one of the highlights!
This photo was taken at a very special castle my mothers relative stayed in for a time.
Mom's relatives name was Mary, Queen of Scots. What an honor it was for me to be where she was at one time.
The Castle is VERY Haunted, too, and I spent the night in it!
MORE ON THAT LATER!!!!! - Boo!!

It's difficult for me to express the joy of seeing you at Dragsholm castle and I love this image, SSSLala.
It's like seeing you step out of a painting - like seeing you step out of history. The history the is yours.
It's a marvellous image and it should hang on the wall of fame. #11322407

Hi Teresa and SSSKiki! Thank you both so much. Huge smile here. :))) This was truly a trip of a lifetime for me to go to Denmark and don't ever forget that it was YOU Sister that introduced me to this Castle so the 'fairy tale dream come true' began for me because of you and I know it was all fate. No question in my mind. History was made for me and my entire family. Thank you! Thank you both. Your comments mean the world to me. #11322413

Hi Jeff, Emile, John and Michelle! It's great to be back. You know, all of my childhood I used to have this re-occuring dream. I didn't think much of it except that I was puzzled as to why I was having it. Over and Over. I was in this one particular Castle and felt I was not allowed to leave. Later my Mother, in real life, told me that her relative, Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned for a good part of her life and then beheaded. She was treated kindly in several castles but still, imprisoned and held in royal captivity until death. Later it was proven that she was innocent of all crimes. Too late then! Lol...In my dream I remember the details of the room and courtyard and many things. An ancient way of running water! I still search for this Castle and am grateful for Google Searching. My Mother often spoke of her relation to Mary Stuart, and when I learned Mary had stayed at Dragsholm Slot, and that one of her husbands is one of the ghosts there, imagine my excitement to spend the night! #11322749

This image is so special, Pom, not just because of your family history, but also because it shows your royal side ~ in rich blue, with flowers to match! Gorgeous background, too.
I'm so glad you finally made it across the Pond to Europe, taking in "the sights", AND sharing so many experiences with Kiki. One I am glad I didn't share was the haunted castle!
I'm so envious of you both. But thrilled for you, too. When I win the lottery, I'll take you both to Disneyland, despite its outrageous entry fee, and then boomerang over to Copenhagen, so we three can have a Danish pastry or two. Yum!! A girl can dream, can't she? :-D #11331109

That sure sounds like a wonderful trip you've had. To go back where a relative has been years ago is very special. Some years back we went on an old ship the Polly Woodside that is in the floating museum in Melbourne, Victoria, that my Great Grandfather had sailed on when he left Denmark & ended up in Australia. We sat at the tables & on the bunks & said "I bet he sat here" & I bet he never thought in years to come 6 girls from my family will be here. How wonderful you were able to look around Denmark with such great tour guides. Great picture also=^..^= #11399177
