Life of a Lily

One of the various kinds of lilies at the Arboretum. I enjoy presenting my flowers with a darkened background to make the flower stand out. Just a look I love.

beautiful capture with a wonderful pov & comp...nicely done #1618994Mary K. Robison May 26, 2015
Frank, you're right about the dark background ~ it gives flowers a chance to "shine". And shine it does on this gorgeous lily. The light is wonderful, and I love how the flower is half in light, and half in shade. Your use of vertical composition emphasizes the long stalk supporting the flower. Really graceful look. You outdid yourself on this one, my friend.Tammy M. Anderson May 26, 2015
Gorgeous lily and capture. Love the color and light. #11308589Debbie Bray May 26, 2015
I also love a dark background to bring the subject forward, Frank, and to take away anything that may disturb the view of the composition. These lillies are beautiful, and always a pleasure to have in the garden, such a lovely capture! #11308590Joy Rector May 26, 2015
