Broken Axle

Description

Unfortunately within 5 minutes of leaving one of the supply buggies broke a rear axle. First time in 8 years. They had to call helicopter in Churchill to come out, pick up our mechanic to go back and get another axle to repair the buggy. This turned out fortunate for us as we disengaged from the lodge we were towing and had one of our best days photographing the Polar Bears. It would be after 3 PM before we took off again and arrived at Cape Churchill at 11:30 PM. Had to shoot this one directly in the sun so I left the flare in on purpose.

Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.67, ExposureTime: 1/320 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 200, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 105.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D

It looks like road service would be a bit rare in these parts Emile! I am glad you survived the ordeal! #11285429
