Description

I ventured high up onto the clerestory ledge to check out a newly-installed replacement window. On the way back, I got this wonderful view of the newly-cleaned north rose window. Figurative panels complete a story of "The Final Judgement". Even though this window is about 27 feet in diameter, from the floor (65 feet below), I never noticed the starburst-like ring of carved stone trim that encircles the seated figure of Christ.

Thank you very much, folks! The window is in the north wall, and this was morning, so there was no direct sun on the glass (there never really is, all year; maybe a few days of very late sunset summer light strikes the glass) which makes it much more "even" for shooting, than the direct-sun windows. #11280772
