Views along Seminole Canyon Rim Trail

We have an arid desert here in Val Verde County and it is hard to believe that a hunter/gather culture lived and survived in these canyons for more than 10,000 years. About 4,000 years ago they began painting on the walls of the rock shelters in the Pecos River Polychrome style. I have been fortunate enough to have photographed over 30 of these sites. Those pictographs are North Americas Oldest Library and we are just in the early stages of deciphering and understanding them. I have done 3 photographic books on them so far that can be seen at blurb.com.
