Pain and Beauty

The plant that produces such pretty flowers is called The Crown of Thorns.
Per the Internet:
"The plant’s name alludes to the legend that (before) His crucifixion, a wreath or crown made from stems of this plant was placed on the head of Christ. As they are pliable, the stems conceivably could be intertwined and shaped into a circle."
I'm placing this in the Macro/Closeup category, because the main subject is not flowers, but thorns.

I can understand why this plant is endowed with protective Thorns, the flowers are so beautiful Mary. Great post too to commemorate Good Friday and the Passion of our Lord, reminding us what the season is all about. #11277951Jeff Robinson April 03, 2015
