Lily of Florence

Description

Florence has long held the fleur-de-lis as its symbol; since the 1200's it has been typically painted red on a white background. The Florentine version (different from the French royal version) features 2 stamens of the flower, situated between the 3 petals. I spotted this one on a huge metal door, no longer hanging in a doorway, but propped against a wall on display in a library.
