Novella Arches

The wall enclosing the garden space adjacent to the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, features a striking design in 2 colors of marble. To me, it somehow feels a very contemporary design, centuries later.

Those bold stripes do give it a contemporary feel. Nice work, Christopher. #1594569Chris Budny November 10, 2014
Thanks, Kevin! #11182571Nikki McDonald November 10, 2014
Well EoD is a perfect fit for this cool shot, Chris. And I agree with Kevin about the stripes - and they are very eye-catching, too. They were the first things I noticed and It took awhile for me to take in the subtler swords and crosses across the bottom, for example. Nicely seen and presented. #11182578Melinda F. Thank you both, Nikki & Melinda! This was one of the churches I missed touring -- only got to view the exterior. :( But it was a really iconic exterior! #11183319Amanda D. Austwick November 30, 2014
I really like those arches especially in B&W! #11197391Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
