Ledge Hunter
Uploaded: October 19, 2014 | Entered: October 19, 2014 04:39:32
This Little Green Heron proved to be a voracious hunter during July of 2012 when he spent three weeks at our pond and decimated all the pond critters. The ecosystem has not yet recovered. Gone are fish, tadpoles, frogs, crayfish, and everything else that moves in water.

They are mighty voracious, indeed and once they find "easy pickings", they are there to stay. Hopefully, he's moved off to greener pastures or ponds :) and your pond has a chance to recover. Beautiful light on this fellow - like the patterned upraised wings - about to pounce on some poor unsuspecting frog, I imagine...Good luck - it'd be nice to see him gone and none of his progeny or friends returning to your pond! #11163592Katherine Kuhn October 20, 2014
