Name in Spanish: Guabairo de Puerto Rico
Scientific name: Caprimulgus noctitherus
Taxonomic Family: Caprimulgidae

Conservation status: Critically Endangered
Description: 22 cm (8.5"). Mottled gray, brown and black. Throat is black with a pale band. The throat band and tips of outer tail feathers are white in the male. Throat band and tips of outer tail feathers are buff-colored in the female.
Status in Puerto Rico: Endemic
Abundance: Rare
Food: Insectos.
Habitat: Dry forests with open understory in the southwest of Puerto Rico.

A great capture of this bird. He blends in with the surroundings so well. You did well to find and make this wonderful capture.
