Description

This started as a focus stack of 38 images, each at F11, taken with a Fuji S3 body and Micro Nikkor 105 lens. I stacked the images using Helicon Focus. I then cut the image in half and created a mirror image of one side so that the image would be symmetrical. I then used Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 to greatly enhance the image and finished it by using the liquify filter to elongate the horns on the head.

This is a female Malaysian walkingstick insect, "Heteropteryx dilatata".
