Laura, I'm glad you like the hat, and it sounds like you played dress-up quite a bit during Monkey Tails's stay with you. That's ALWAYS fun!
Wm, I bet some of those stories are pretty scary. And thanks for the info on the wood. #11039054

She went without any clothes here. :( I am a BAAAAAAAAAAAD Auntie. And it was the dead of winter. BUT I didnt let her go outside in the snow. :))) I hope that makes me a GOOD Auntie again? HeeHee...

She looks stunning, Mare, and I must say Harriet has very good taste, too!

I think that Monkey Tails is enough of a free spirit to go with or without clothes, Pom. So you remain a GOOD Auntie, one I'm sure she will always remember fondly.
As for the pillbox hat transformation --- fantastic! That lady is one of the millions of unsung creative people Out There on our planet. When she put the lavender flower next to the feathers, I thought of Will and Kate's royal wedding, and all the "fancies" (was that their name?) the ladies wore that day.
I liked the butterfly a lot, but thought it got a bit lost with so much to look at around it. Maybe the butterfly, the flower, and the sparkling fabric together?? So many possible combinations. Now I want to see YOU in some dynamite hats!
Thanks for the lovely demonstration video. You made my night. :-D

HeeHee! YES! A free spirit she is alright? :D The little Hippie! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....Swinging from the trees and lamps and things from her tail. :D Ah, the life of a little Monkey! It must be nice. :)))))not a care in the world and especially clothes!

As for the at lady that makes the hats here I thought the same thing. THE ROYAL WEDDING! :D I am not sure what they called them but "fancies" sounds about right.

Mare, you'll get a kick out of knowing that I was once known as "The girl that always wears hats" in school. I loved hats and in our year book one year they put me on the year book page called "CAN YOU IMAGINE" and it said "Can You Imagine Laura Not Wearing Hats???" I am big on hats and head dressings! :) If I was a man I'd likely be a Flaming one. (JUST ADD FEATHERS!) :D HA! But keep that under your fancy hat. :) ! I'll see what I can come up with just for you! :D

Thanks for the fun. I LOVED THOSE YOUTUBES, TOO. There are dozens of them showing us how to make fancy hats. I feel inspired! :D

Is Monkey Tails old enough to join the Red Hat Club?? #11058708

Mary K. Robison June 03, 2014

Technically no, Irene, since the appropriate age to join the Red Hat Club starts at 50. But Harriet wanted to show Monkey Tails a good time, so they had a "dress-up" afternoon using Harriet's hats.
Pom, I'm picturing you now in your high school yearbook photo. I'd love to know what your classmates said when they saw it. Clearly you stood out in a crowd even then! ;-D #11058913
