Inshunuk "The Way"

Uploaded: March 10, 2014 13:33:32

Description

This capture was taken in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. I uploaded the color version back in 2006 or 2007. I could not find any information on the meaning of this Inuit word and my best guess is "The Way" They function much like Cairns. Canon 5D at 47mm, ISO100, F/8 & 1/200 sec. Processed first in Aperture then Silver Efex Pro 2 to get all 11 zones of grayscale from 0 (blackest) to 10 (whitest).

The black and white is so perfect for this masterpiece Emile. What a beautiful look this is. The odd shapes of the rocks and the way they were towered wants us to understand what they symbolizes. I agree about the tones and the contrast as Joannie brought out. A winner all the way my friend. #10997472
