Houston "My Snowshoe"

Uploaded: February 16, 2014

Description

Houston is another of our rare rescue kitties and is the brother to Rouser. They were all the kitties of "Miss Kitty" which we rescued with "Alice". The next day we were told she had 3 other kittens which we also took and "Houston, Rouser and Jeep were brought to our house 3 days old. Miss Kitty sure had some broken chromosomes with her litter (all different). Houston the "Snowshoe" is a rare kitty that can not be breed although many attempt have been made. They have intense blue eye, distinctive marking and white paws (snowshoes). They either occur or not and are uncommon to rare. He is a very affectionate kitty and live on the back porch and backyard with his sibs. Continuing with my kitties series also taken with the cheap Canon Powershot SX50 HS.

I did not get the best news with the remainder of my Cardiac Test coming in with a C+. No major need for Coronary Stenting, further testing or surgery but a definite increased risk. Will be treated medically for a year with medication and need to get back to daily exercise which I have already started and am now walking 2 miles a day (no chest pain or SOB). Did restart a statin (Crestor) and added a baby aspirin 81 mgm. BP is under control with meds and I do eat a low fat, low carb diet (most of the time). Advice if you want to live long and be healthy: Stay ideal body weight (I am), do not smoke (I do not), exercise daily (I am back to it), take a baby ASA daily and a statin drug (both decrease stroke, heart attack and sudden death by 50% and that is cheap), eat a healthy diet (low cal, low fat and low Carb), keep your BP under control, keep stress to a reasonable minimum, laugh a lot, have fun in life, have regular uninhibited sex with your spouse and get yearly or more often medical check ups if necessary. Or the alternative is early death or high medical bills. What I gave my wife for Valentines Day was my heart checkup and a renewed chance for a long and healthy and fun time together. Happy belated Valentines Day from Emile will catch up soon. #1563837

Shades of old blue eyes. those are definitely a beautiful blue. What a gorgeous cat Houston is.
Sorry to hear about your test results. I to have been gotten myself in a more healthy routine. Walking each night, give up the diet coke, take my aspirin, watch my cholesterol. We old boys and gals have to take care of ourselves. Good luck with your health my friend. Take care Emile. #10978546
