Behind Mystery Door

This is a re-submit from about a year ago.

Philadelphia's historic Eastern State Penitentiary is now open to the public as a museum. Despite the openness of much of the institution, there are still mysteries to uncover.
----
These glass panes of a locked door were nearly opaque when I shot this photo. I don't remember which filters and plug-ins I used to get this "reveal" to come through. I PROMISE that I did not paste images into the panes. What you see is what APPARENTLY was behind the door.
----
But the mystery is still to be solved: the objects behind the door are disjointed and do not seem to match up logically in any way.
----
Any thoughts?

No idea, but I've heard stranger things than this have happened at this place! Outstanding! #10942947Nikki McDonald January 11, 2014
I like it a lot. I see a person standing on the right side - a man with his hands behind his back turned almost away from us and looking into the room. In the far right upper corner there appear to be stairs going up. To the left of the man is what looks like a red bucket on the floor. The entire left side of the image is a mystery for sure. Cool shot, Michelle - thanks for bringing it to us again. #10942950MELODIE C. ROBERTS January 11, 2014
I think it's an escapeeHe has broken out and is now wondering if he made a mistake and is contemplating breaking back in.
Very intriguing Mickey

What a remarkable image Michelle! I usually try and avoid paranormal activities! #10943279Mitch Spence January 11, 2014
Well, I love the image. And it is a mystery. I see a person there. And the bucket, and a staircase. And we can create the scenario as we like, which is the very best thing sometimes. #10943331Michelle Alton January 11, 2014
Hmmm. What bothers me is that although the tree (tree growing inside the building?) extends through three panes, the legs in the lower right pane do not seem to match the body above. It looks to me as though he is taking care of "business," if you get my drift. The pane above does seem, as Nikki suggests, to be peeping into a window. And the red bucket seems disproportionately huge.Carol L. Fowler January 11, 2014
Great looking capture! Maybe some of the panes show reflections and others are opaque. #10943535Denny E. Barnes January 11, 2014
Beautiful capture, color and detail, Michelle! Lots of guessing going on but I think your camera caught images of ghosts from the past...hehe #10943613Robert K. Bemus January 11, 2014
I dunno. Looks like the person is holding a can of paint thinner and the bottom center pane looks like a newspaper/magazine ad pasted to it from the inside. Intriguing. Great shot and image! #10943679MELODIE C. ROBERTS January 12, 2014

Not sure about the mystery behind it Michelle, but it does make for one amazing picture. Love the old and beaten look the glass pane offers and what looks like someone in there. I would find this an exciting place to visit. #10943765Michelle Alton January 12, 2014
One thing that has happened in at least one of the cell blocks is that one or more trees have fallen and breached the roof and walls. They have been left as they fell. It is puzzling that THIS tree seems to be alive and growing, but that may be an illusion. The door apparently opens into a cell block that hasn't yet been opened to the public Eastern State Penitentiary is built with a center hub, out of which the various cell blocks extend, like the spokes of a wheel.Mary Alston January 12, 2014
A mesmerizing image - a real puzzle and fun to try try to solve. #10944128Emile Abbott January 12, 2014
And such is the mystery of the mysterious panes. Love this interesting capture Michelle. Though provoking. #10944213Terry Cervi January 13, 2014
I agree, the mysterious panes of glass make this image very intriguing! I can't figure it out either. Super work, Michelle! #10945675Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
