Pink Painted Quartet - Kenilworth Gardens

Uploaded: November 08, 2005 17:55:30

Description

The image was cropped from one taken at Kenilworth Gardens in Washington, DC. It was a RAW capture with a Sigma 28-135 lens, at 82mm, 1/30 sec, F13, ISO 200. Of course I wished I had used a deeper depth of field, so to salvage the foursome, which I liked, I cloned out some merged petals from other blossoms (maybe should have removed more, but wanted to keep a somewhat natural look) adjusted color, toned down a couple of hot spots, replaced a heavy leaf with copied more subtle leaf parts...all with Photoshop 7.0. Then I used PS filters to give it a painterly look.

Beautiful shot Judy. I like the way the photo leads your eye into the image, from one flower to the other. Very well done.
