Down to the Beach

It's rare in Florida that one could correctly say "down" to the beach because this is a very flat peninsula. But here, at Spanish Point, the early natives, the Calusa Indians, built on layer upon layer of shells, now called shell middens,which raised the elevation, as it does here.
