Bee on Fireweed

Uploaded: August 22, 2013

Description

Fireweed is a beautiful wildflower spread all over the Alaskan scene throughout July and tops off & seeds the first weeks of August. Here a bee enjoys the last of the nectar from this wild plant most Alaskan would say is the true State flower. It is thought that once the flower reaches the top, there is only another six weeks before the first snow will fall.

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 10/1250 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 400, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 300.00 mm, Model: NIKON D200
